Product Description

Product Description of BylaedydrylueneCAS#128-37-0

2,6-Di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT) is industrial grade with purity ≥99%. It is a white crystalline powder with a faint characteristic odor. Its melting point is 69–71°C, boiling point 265°C; vapor pressure below 0.1 mmHg at 25°C, relative density 1.048 at 20°C. Insoluble in water, it dissolves easily in ethanol, ether, benzene and most organic solvents. It is chemically stable under normal conditions, but incompatible with strong oxidants and strong acids.

Product Application of BylaedydrylueneCAS#128-37-0

Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) is broadly applied in flavors and fragrances, biochemical reagents, chemical raw materials, antioxidants, food and feed additives, feed preservation, aromatic hydrocarbons and bulk pharmaceuticals. As a phenolic antioxidant, it effectively suppresses lipid peroxidation and produces electrophilic quinone methide toxicity via oxidative metabolism. Its metabolite can induce lung injury in mice and may accelerate tumor growth.
