Product Description

Product Description of Triphenylphosphine CAS#603-35-0

Triphenylphosphine has a molecular formula of C18H15P and a molecular weight of 262.30. It is a white to off-white crystalline powder, freely soluble in ether, soluble in benzene, chloroform and glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in ethanol, and practically insoluble in water. Its melting point is 78.5–81.5 °C, and boiling point exceeds 360 °C under an inert atmosphere. As a key ligand for homogeneous catalysts, it is widely used in petrochemical and fine chemical industries with growing application scope and market demand.

Product Application of Triphenylphosphine CAS#603-35-0

Triphenylphosphine can be sulfonated with oleum to synthesize its trisulfonic acid derivative. It is widely used in Wittig reactions and serves as a standard ligand in homogeneous catalytic systems.

It is also applied to prepare organophosphorus intermediates, such as trimethyl phosphite through transesterification, which can be further processed into organophosphorus pesticides including dichlorvos, monocrotophos and phosphamidon.
