Product Description

Products Description of Caprolactam CAS#105-60-2

Caprolactam is a white flaky solid, freely soluble in water. Its 70% aqueous solution has a specific gravity of 1.05, denser than pure water, and the compound also exists in a molten state. Inhalation carries toxic risks, with occupational exposure limits set at 5 ppm for vapor and 1 mg/m³ for dust. It is mainly used to manufacture synthetic fibers, plastics, films, coatings and polyurethanes.

Product Applications of Caprolactam CAS#105-60-2

ε-Caprolactam is a key monomer for polyamide synthetic fibers and polycaprolactam (Nylon 6), widely used in carpets, textiles, apparel and tire materials. It also acts as a solvent for high-molecular-weight polymers, an ingredient in coatings and plasticizers, and a cross-linking agent for polyurethane synthesis.
