Product Description

Product Description of ‌Fumaric Acid CAS#110-17-8

Fumaric acid is an important organic raw material and fine chemical intermediate. It is also a major derivative of maleic anhydride, widely used in food, coatings, resins and plasticizers.
In food industry, it acts as an excellent acidulant for soft drinks, wine, cold drinks, concentrated juice, canned fruits, pickles and ice cream. It is also used as an acid leavening agent in solid beverages, providing lasting foam and fine texture.

Product Application of ‌Fumaric Acid CAS#110-17-8

Fumaric acid is non-hygroscopic and acts as a strong acidulant. It has low water solubility of 0.63 g per 100 mL distilled water at 25°C and dissolves slowly in cold water. Its solubility can be improved by adding dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate or reducing particle size.
It features high cost performance. 0.317 kg of fumaric acid can replace 0.453 kg of citric acid in formula applications.
