Product Description

Product Description of Cupric nitrate trihydrate CAS#10031-43-3

Cupric nitrate trihydrate has extensive industrial and laboratory uses.It is mainly used to make copper oxide catalyst for organic chemistry, and also applied in textile processing and metal polishing. It can be used as a teaching reagent for galvanic cell experiments.
It can react with acetic anhydride to prepare aromatic nitrating agents. Its hydrate can catalyze the polymerization of 2,6-dimethylphenol. The trihydrate aids solvent-free synthesis of amino ketones and esters, while the pentahydrate is used to make coordination polymers.
It is also widely used in medicine, pesticides, chemical analysis and photosensitive paper production.

Product Application of Cupric nitrate trihydrate CAS#10031-43-3

Copper(II) nitrate trihydrate can be used to synthesize a variety of mononuclear copper coordination complexes. It is often adopted to prepare complexes with ligands including 1,10-phenanthroline, dpq and dppz.
Typical complexes synthesized from it are listed below:
[Cu(dpq)(NO₃)₂]
Cu(dpq)(NO₃)(H₂O)₂
[Cu(dpq)(NO₃)₂(H₂O)₂]·2H₂O
[Cu(dppz)(NO₃)₂(H₂O)]·H₂O
Such coordination complexes are widely researched in coordination chemistry and related disciplines.
