Product Description

Product Description of Stearic acid CAS#57-11-4

Stearic acid is industrial grade with purity ≥99%. It is a white waxy solid with a faint fatty smell. Melting point: 69–70 °C, boiling point: 361 °C. Its vapor pressure is lower than 0.1 mmHg at 25 °C, and relative density is 0.940 at 20 °C. It does not dissolve in water, but dissolves in ethanol, ether, benzene and other organic solvents. It keeps stable under normal conditions and should be kept away from strong oxidants and strong bases.

Product Application of Stearic acid CAS#57-11-4

It can act as a curing activator for natural rubber, most synthetic rubber and latex. It is also a key raw material for plasticizers and stabilizers in the plastics industry. In the pharmaceutical field, it is used to make ointments and suppositories, and also widely applied in cosmetics, candles, waterproof agents and polishing agents. In the food industry, it works as a lubricant, defoamer and food additive. It also serves as a raw material for producing glyceryl stearate, sorbitan stearate and sucrose ester.
