Product Description

Product Description of Isomalt CAS#64519-82-0

Polyethylene-polypropylene glycol (PPG-PEG), also known as Poloxamer, is a versatile block copolymer surfactant. It consists of a hydrophobic PPO core with hydrophilic PEO chains on both sides. It is commonly used as an emulsifier, dispersant, solubilizer, defoamer and wetting agent in multiple industries. It is widely applied in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, papermaking and cleaning supplies, including drug delivery systems, contact lens solutions and laxatives. Its solubility, foaming property and wetting performance can be adjusted by modifying the ratio of PEO to PPO.

Product Application of Isomalt CAS#64519-82-0

Pharmaceuticals: Used as an excipient in oral, topical and injectable medicines. It acts as a solubilizer for sparingly water-soluble drugs, and is also used in laxatives as a stool softener as well as in eye drop preparations. Personal Care: Applied in shampoos, toothpaste, moisturizers and contact lens care solutions as a cleansing and thickening agent. Industrial Uses: Applied as a low-foam detergent and defoamer in paper and fermentation industries, and used as a lubricant in metalworking and rubber vulcanization. Biotechnology: Used in cell culture media to protect cells from shear stress in bioreactors.
