It is also applied in the preparation of silica-coated zinc sulfide nanoparticles. In dietary supplement and pharmaceutical fields, it can be used as a nutritional calcium and zinc source, and formulated into lozenges to relieve common cold symptoms. It acts as a seed crystal material for the growth of zinc oxide nanorods on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) microfiber fabrics. Besides, it is widely used in wood preservation, the production of other zinc salts, and the manufacturing of ethyl acetate. It also serves as a common analytical reagent in multiple industries and functions as a plating inhibitor in nuclear power plants.
