Calcium hydroxide is used in food (pH adjustment, preservative, GMP-compliant), industry (bleaching powder, water treatment, construction), pharmaceuticals (antacid, disinfectant) and chemicals (lubricant additives, calcium salts). Japan limits use to 1.84% (1% Ca). Additional applications include CO₂ absorption, leather processing and organic synthesis.
