Product Description

Product Application of Zinc acetate dihydrate CAS#5970-45-6

Industrial-grade zinc acetate dihydrate has a purity of ≥99%, presenting as a white and odorless crystalline powder. Its melting point is 237 °C, and it decomposes when heated to boiling. It has negligible vapor pressure at 25 °C with a relative density of 1.84 at 20 °C. It is soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in benzene. Zinc acetate dihydrate keeps chemically stable under normal ambient conditions, yet it is incompatible with strong acids.

Product Application of Zinc acetate dihydrate CAS#5970-45-6

Zinc acetate dihydrate is widely used for preparing layered Zn-arylphosphonates, which show potential in adsorption, ion exchange and catalysis. It is also applied in the synthesis of silica-coated zinc sulfide nanoparticles. In food supplement and medical fields, it is used in nutritional supplements and cold-relief lozenges. Moreover, it acts as a seed material for the growth of zinc oxide nanorods on polyethylene terephthalate microfibers. It is also used in wood preservation, the production of other zinc salts, ethyl acetate manufacturing, and serves as an analytical reagent in various industries. In the nuclear power industry, it functions as a plating inhibitor.
