Product Description

Product Description of Cobalt Sulfate CAS#10124-43-3

Cobalt Sulfate exists in multiple hydrated forms with different physical properties. The anhydrous form is purple orthorhombic crystals, with a density of 3.71 g/cm³ and melting point above 700 °C. The monohydrate is crimson orthorhombic crystals at 3.08 g/cm³, and the heptahydrate appears as crimson monoclinic prismatic crystals with a density of 2.03 g/cm³. The heptahydrate gradually loses crystal water and transforms into hexahydrate at about 41 °C, further converting to monohydrate at around 74 °C. Anhydrous cobalt sulfate and heptahydrate are both freely soluble in water, while monohydrate dissolves slowly in boiling water, making cobalt sulfate applicable for various aqueous and high-temperature industrial processes.

Product Application of Cobalt Sulfate CAS#10124-43-3

Cobalt Sulfate has extensive applications across multiple industrial fields. It is a crucial raw material in chemical manufacturing for synthesizing various cobalt compounds. In the battery industry, it acts as a key raw material for lithium-ion battery cathode materials, helping enhance energy capacity and operational stability. In agriculture, it is used as a trace element fertilizer to supply essential cobalt nutrients for crop growth. It is also widely adopted in electroplating for metal surface treatment and catalyst production, functioning as an active component to boost catalytic activity and reaction efficiency.
