Products
Dual Crystal Forms:Available in orthorhombic (valentinite) and cubic (senarmontite) structures, offering stable physical properties for diverse industrial applications.
High Thermal Stability:Melts at 656 °C and sublimes at elevated temperatures, ensuring reliable performance in high-temperature processing and refining operations.
Excellent Chemical Resistance:Practically insoluble in water and organic solvents, while readily soluble in acids and alkalis, enabling controlled reactivity in chemical formulations.
High Purity Optical Properties:High refractive index (2.087) and well-defined molecular structure (Sb₂O₆ dimers) support use in specialty glass, ceramics, and catalyst systems.
Product Description
Product Description of Diantimony trioxide CAS#1309-64-4
Antimony trioxide: orthorhombic (valentinite, 5.67 g/cm³) or cubic (senarmontite, 5.20 g/cm³, dimeric Sb₂O₆). Refractive index 2.087; mp 656 °C (O₂-free); bp 1550 °C (sublimes); sublimes at 400 °C (vacuum). Very slightly soluble in water, insoluble in organics; soluble in HCl, caustic alkalis and tartaric acid.
Product Application of Diantimony trioxide CAS#1309-64-4
Diantimony trioxide is a key flame-retardant additive for plastics. Industrial grades (99.0–99.9% purity) are produced by oxidizing antimony metal/sulfide ores at 600–800 °C, with particle size controlled via processing. Also used as a white pigment; fine particles maximize whiteness/opacity, coarse grades for translucent plastics. Insoluble in water, low moisture loss.
