Barium chloride dihydrate is industrial grade with purity ≥99%, appearing as white odorless crystalline powder. It melts at 113℃ and loses crystal water, while its anhydrous form has a boiling point of 1560℃. It has negligible vapor pressure at 25℃ and a relative density of 2.80 at 20℃. It is freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in hydrochloric acid, and insoluble in ethanol and acetone. Stable under conventional conditions, it should be stored away from sulfates and carbonates.

Product Application of Barium chloride dihydrate CAS#10326-27-9

Barium chloride dihydrate is widely used for brine purification in chlor-alkali plants. It also serves as a laboratory reagent for the detection of sulfate ions in chemical analysis. In addition, it functions as a cleaning agent during the manufacture of other barium compounds and lubricating oil additives.

This product is further applied in the production of molecular sieves, pigments, and paper coating materials, and is used as a precursor for the preparation of doped barium zirconate.
