Phosphorous acid is an important intermediate for the synthesis of various phosphorus compounds. It acts as a key raw material for water-treatment phosphonates, applicable to iron and manganese regulation, scale inhibition and removal, corrosion protection and chlorine stabilization. Its alkali metal phosphites are widely used as agricultural fungicides against downy mildew and serve as an excellent phosphorus nutrient source for plants. Besides, it is used for stabilizing plastic blends, high-temperature anti-corrosion protection of metal surfaces, as well as the production of lubricants and lubricant additives.

α-aminomethylphosphonic acids via Mannich multicomponent reactions

1-aminoalkanephosphonic acids by amidoalkylation and subsequent hydrolysis

N-protected α-aminophosphonic acids (phospho-isosteres of natural amino acids) through amidoalkylation reactions


