Product Description of ‌Phosphoric Acid CAS#7664-38-2

Phosphoric acid is a medium-strength inorganic acid. Pure form: colorless liquid/crystal (mp 42.35 °C, density 1.834), miscible with water/ethanol. 85% solution: pale yellow viscous liquid (density 1.70). Dehydrates to pyrophosphoric acid at 213 °C and metaphosphoric acid at 300 °C. Hygroscopic, skin-irritating; commercial grade is ~82% solution.

Product Application of Phosphoric Acid CAS#7664-38-2

Wet-process phosphoric acid produces various phosphates; purified grade makes feed calcium hydrogen phosphate. Used in metal phosphating, aluminum polishing, pharmaceuticals (glycerophosphate, iron phosphate, dental zinc phosphate), phenolic resin catalysis, dye drying, printing plate cleaning, match impregnation, refractory mortars, rubber coagulation, adhesives and anti-corrosion coatings.


