Calcium chloride dihydrate (CaCl₂·2H₂O) is a hydrated inorganic calcium chloride salt.


Product Application of Calcium chloride dihydrate CAS#10035-04-8

It has strong hygroscopicity, used as desiccant, road de-icer and dust suppressant, also for cooling brine, ice making and cement production.

It can raise pool water hardness and be used as food additive. In biotechnology, it improves cell membrane permeability for gene transformation. Medically, it treats hypocalcemia to rapidly increase blood calcium.
It is made from limestone, obtained as Solvay process by-product or purified from natural brine.
