Bisphenol AF (BPAF), also named hexafluorobisphenol A, 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane and 2,2-di(4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane, is slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride, barely soluble in water, and easily soluble in ethanol, acetone, ether, toluene and strong alkaline solutions. It decomposes and burns when heated to 510℃.
Product Application of Bisphenol AF CAS#1478-61-1
Hexafluorobisphenol A is mainly used as vulcanization accelerator FF34 for fluororubber. It can improve the permanent deformation resistance and tensile strength of fluororubber after vulcanization. It also serves as an intermediate for pharmaceutical synthesis.
