Naturally Occurring and Industrially Useful:Sodium sulfate exists naturally as thenardite and can be sourced from regions like Chile and Spain, providing a reliable raw material for industrial applications.
High Melting Point:With a melting point of 888°C (1632°F), it is thermally stable, making it suitable for high-temperature processes such as glass and paperboard manufacturing.
Versatile Applications:Used widely in the production of paperboard, glass, freezing mixtures, and sodium bisulfate, demonstrating broad industrial utility.
Water-Soluble Hydrate Form:The decahydrate form, known as Glauber’s salt, is a stable, water-soluble compound used in dyeing, glass production, and other chemical processes.
Product Description
Product Description of Sodium Sulfate CAS#7757-82-6
Sodium sulfate (thenardite/salt cake, mp 888 °C) occurs naturally in Chile/Spain, used in paperboard, glass and freezing mixtures. Its decahydrate (Glauber’s salt) is a water-soluble solid made from NaCl+H₂SO₄, applied in dyeing, glass and sodium bisulfate production.
Product Application of Sodium Sulfate CAS#7757-82-6
Sodium sulfate is used as a detergent filler, paper sulfate pulp cooking agent, glass soda substitute, and raw material for sodium sulfide and sodium silicate. Additional uses include Vinylon spinning coagulation, pharmaceutical laxative, non-ferrous metallurgy and leather processing.
