Product Description

Product Application of Lanthanum(III) nitrate hexahydrate CAS#10277-43-7

Lanthanum(III) nitrate is commonly used as a precursor for electrochemical synthesis of LaMnO₃ thin film coatings on stainless steel substrates. It also acts as a catalyst in the chemoselective synthesis of cyclic and acyclic dithioacetals. It is also widely adopted in the preparation of advanced materials such as lanthanum aluminate (LAO) thin films, LaF₃ nanocrystals and indole-derived bis(indolyl)methane compounds.

Product Application of Lanthanum(III) nitrate hexahydrate CAS#10277-43-7

Lanthanum(III) nitrate hexahydrate serves as a precursor for the electrochemical synthesis of LaMnO₃ thin film coatings on stainless steel substrates. A novel solvothermal method can prepare doped lanthanide oxysulfide (La₂O₂S), which has potential applications in phosphors, fluorescent display tubes and heat transfer measurement technology. Lanthanum nitrate is mainly applied in special glass manufacturing, water treatment and catalytic industry. Lanthanum and other rare-earth compounds such as oxides and chlorides are widely used in various catalytic systems, including petroleum cracking catalysts. In metallurgy, trace lanthanum added into steel can improve its malleability, impact resistance and ductility; when added to molybdenum, it can reduce hardness and temperature sensitivity. Moreover, a small amount of lanthanum is used in swimming pool treatment products to remove phosphate that causes algae growth.
