Product Description

Product Description of Anisole CAS#100-66-3

Anisole (methoxybenzene) is industrial grade with purity ≥99%. It is a colorless transparent liquid with a distinctive aromatic odor. Its melting point is –37.5 °C and boiling point is 154.8 °C. The vapor pressure is 4.7 mmHg at 25 °C, and the relative density is 0.995 at 20 °C. Anisole is insoluble in water, yet freely soluble in ethanol, ether and most organic solvents. It maintains chemical stability under normal conditions and is incompatible with strong acids and oxidizing agents.

Product Application of Anisole CAS#100-66-3

Anisole is extensively used as a solvent in organic synthesis and large-scale industrial processes, particularly in the production of fragrances and perfumes. It also acts as an analytical solvent and reagent, and functions as a key intermediate for the synthesis of perfumery raw materials and agrochemicals including pesticides.
