Product Application of Bronopol CAS#52-51-7

Bronopol is a formaldehyde-releasing compound and has been identified as a potential allergen for dairy workers. In a reported case, bronopol contained in ultrasound lubricant jelly induced contact dermatitis in a veterinary surgeon.

Product Application of Bronopol CAS#52-51-7

Bronopol is used as an antimicrobial preservative at a concentration of 0.01–0.1% w/v, either alone or blended with other preservatives. It is applied in topical pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and personal care products, with a typical dosage of 0.02% w/v.


