Sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃) is a white, hygroscopic alkaline powder that forms basic aqueous solutions. Approximately half of global production is used in glass manufacturing (as a silica flux), with the remainder applied in pulp/paper, textiles, water treatment, detergents, food processing and general industrial cleaning.
