TDI is a pungent pale yellow liquid soluble in common organic solvents. It is a mixture of two isomers, dominantly in 80/20 ratio, and holds a large share in global isocyanate market.


Product Application of Toluene Diisocyanate CAS#26471-62-5

TDI reacts with hydroxyl groups to form urethane bonds, used primarily in flexible polyurethane foams (furniture, bedding, vehicle seating). Other applications include polyurethane elastomers (auto parts, coatings), rigid foams (refrigerator insulation, construction, shipping containers), and moisture-curable sealants and floor coatings.
