Neopentyl glycol (NPG, C₅H₁₂O₂) is a 2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diol with good solubility in water and common organic solvents. Its primary hydroxyl groups facilitate fast esterification, and its unique alpha-methyl substitution provides excellent chemical and thermal stability for diverse industrial uses.

Neopentyl glycol (NPG) is a core raw material for polyesters, coatings, lubricants and plasticizers. It improves polyester heat/light/water resistance and produces high-performance synthetic lubricants. Widely used in powder coatings and polyurethane coatings for automotive, industrial and aerospace applications, it is also applied in textiles, pharmaceuticals and pesticides, available in flake, molten and slurry forms.
