Rifampicin is a broad-spectrum rifamycin antibiotic. It strongly acts on tubercle bacilli, various gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria and partial viruses.

It is red crystalline powder insoluble in water, mainly made into oral dosage forms. Combined with other anti-tuberculosis drugs, it produces synergistic effects and delays drug resistance, serving as a core drug for tuberculosis therapy.
