Rifampicin is a broad-spectrum rifamycin antibiotic. It strongly acts on tubercle bacilli, various gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria and partial viruses.

It is red crystalline powder insoluble in water, mainly made into oral dosage forms. Combined with other anti-tuberculosis drugs, it produces synergistic effects and delays drug resistance, serving as a core drug for tuberculosis therapy.

Rifampicin is a broad-spectrum, cell-penetrating bactericidal antibiotic active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria. It is mainly used to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis, drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections and leprosy. It also serves as a pharmaceutical intermediate with the same antibacterial spectrum, showing good efficacy against Gram-positive cocci and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
