Product Description

Product Description of Isoniazid CAS#54-85-3

Isoniazid is colorless or white crystalline powder with slight bitterness, stable and easily soluble in water.

Its hydrazine group has strong reducibility, capable of reducing dissolved oxygen under alkaline conditions for luminescent analysis use. Its amino group enables reactions to synthesize Schiff bases and various isoniazid derivatives.

Product Application of Isoniazid CAS#54-85-3

Isoniazid is a first-line, affordable anti-tuberculosis drug with high efficacy and low toxicity, also used as electroplating additive and chemical intermediate.
It can undergo condensation reactions to form multiple derivatives with anti-tuberculosis effects. Isoniazid shows the strongest potency, while its hydrazone has weaker antibacterial action yet lower neuro and hepatic toxicity.
It features strong selective inhibition against tubercle bacilli, achieving bacteriostasis at low concentrations and sterilization at higher doses for clinical and research use.
