Product Description

Products Description of Streptomycin Sulfate CAS#3810-74-0

Streptomycin sulfate is an antibiotic from Streptomyces griseus and the first effective anti-tuberculosis drug. Given via intramuscular injection, it is suitable for parenteral use with low toxicity. It kills bacteria by inhibiting ribosomal protein synthesis and mainly acts on extracellular tubercle bacilli.

Product Application of Streptomycin Sulfate CAS#3810-74-0

Streptomycin sulfate inhibits most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially various Gram-negative strains. As a first-line anti-tuberculosis agent, it suppresses tubercle bacilli obviously at low doses and kills them at higher doses. It barely penetrates cells and mainly targets extracellular mycobacteria, working better on multiplying bacteria. Its bactericidal effect rises with concentration and peaks at pH 7.8.
